AT&T offers many internet access options, each with a specific speed range for ease of maintenance. The term “speed” is often used as an abbreviation to describe the ability with which a particular Internet access service can transmit data. This capacity is usually measured in the number of kilobits, megabits or gigabits that can be transmitted in one second (Kbps, Mbps or Gbps). Some applications, such as a short email without attachments or basic web browsing, do not require high service capabilities to run optimally, while other activities such as transferring large data files with faster services can run faster. The speed of your serviceability may not be suitable for some applications, especially those that include high-bandwidth real-time or near-real-time applications such as video streaming or video conferencing. Reduced throughput speeds apply when using Data Services at certain times and in network congestion areas compared to other customers using the same cellular location. Standard speeds will resume once the cell location is no longer congested or when your data session is moved to an uncrowded cellular location, and speeds will no longer be reduced during periods of network congestion at the beginning of the next billing period, unless your usage again exceeds an applicable and identified data usage threshold for that next billing period. Certain Services allow you to access, view, listen, interact, record and/or store third-party audio and visual content (“Third-Party Content”).
