This one-day workshop will improve your understanding of this important document. You will learn about some of the most important provisions as the workshop introduces you to a simple four-step approach to collective bargaining. Using case studies, you will practice the application of the collective agreement to real-life situations in the workplace, consider the intention of the parties, and identify the resources available to you. The programme offers sessions on topics such as understanding the collective agreement, consulting with union leaders, anti-harassment, discrimination, accommodation and employment justice. The JLP offers the opportunity to organize workshops to help employers and employees improve the workplace. Workshops are designed to allow the employer and the union to better understand their respective roles and functions. The objectives of the JLP are to improve industrial relations and improve understanding of the role of the union and management in the workplace. The JLP achieves its objectives by organizing workshops in areas of mutual interest where the employer is not already legally required to provide training and where the union and management have specific roles and responsibilities.
